Our History

Greater Grace Church was founded on July 22, 1984, when it held its first service in space rented from the Epworth Windsor United Methodist Church in north St. Louis.

In 1986, God blessed Greater Grace with nearly three acres of land in Moline Acres. In 1990, construction of a new church building was completed and the congregation grew rapidly. A second phase of construction was completed in 1994 to accommodate the church’s growth.

Presently, we have broken ground and moved into a new, larger church at 3690 Pershall Road in North St. Louis County.

While our assembly has now celebrated its 21st anniversary, the Church itself has a much longer, more profound history. It began on the day of Pentecost, when the disciples were waiting for the promise of the Father. A sound came from heaven as a rush and mighty wind, and they were filled with the Holy Ghost and spoke in tongues as the Spirit of God gave them utterance.

On that day, Peter preached the first message of the New Testament Church and commanded the listeners to repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus so as to receive the Holy Ghost. We continue to preach this same message today as we await the return of Jesus to rapture the Church, his Bride.
